About the Role

As Purchase Manager within Komatsu Europe Parts Operation (KEPO), you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing procurement activities to ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and efficient supply of goods and services. You will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and overseeing sourcing, negotiation, and contract management processes. Your focus will be on optimizing procurement performance while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements.

Key responsibilities

Supplier Management & Negotiations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets are met.

Procurement Strategy & Execution

  • Define and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and value creation through strategic sourcing.
  • Support the Procurement Manager in implementing procurement policies and best practices.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Proactively manage risks related to supplier contracts, performance, and market fluctuations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at optimizing procurement processes.
  • Contribute to the digitalization and automation of procurement workflows.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement department.

Internal Collaboration

  • Act as the key point of contact between the procurement department and internal stakeholders (logistics, finance, legal, operations).
  • Communicate effectively with management on procurement performance and project progress. 

Profile & Qualifications

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within an international or industrial environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Solid knowledge of procurement strategies, supply chain principles, and risk management.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and ERP systems (SAP is an asset).
  • Strong analytical skills, solution-oriented mindset, and excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other European languages is an advantage.
  • Team player with a proactive and hands-on attitude.
