Komatsu Germany – Industrial Division (KGI) is located in Düsseldorf-Benrath, together with the Mining Division of Komatsu Germany. With our extensive service network, we are handling industrial machinery press machines, laser machines, machine tools, etc., and provide the automobile and parts industry with supply and services. Since 1969 we have delivered products and service to customers throughout Europe. Many of the installed equipment is still in operation.

The main products of Komatsu Germany - Industrial Division are stamping presses for the automotive industry. The presses are available in various sizes and designs, depending on the application area of our customers and complement with intelligent IT solutions. As our customers’ processes require the highest flexibility and customization, we manufacture the industrial presses to meet the requirements of our customers. Most of the presses and components are sourced from the main plant in Japan. Our products are complemented by IT solutions in order to achieve the maximum performance.

Outstanding technologies

The relationship between Komatsu Japan and Komatsu Germany is very close. Most product innovation processes take place at the Innovation Center in Japan and are transferred directly to Komatsu Germany. Thanks to our service network, we are ready to meet all requirements and to integrate all requests to the latest product developments.

We are constantly researching new technologies. A compelling example is the development of the H2FM next-generation progressive servo press. The H2FM Next-Generation Progressive Servo Press is equipped with a newly developed "water-cooled high-torque servomotor" and pendulum motion, which can improve productivity by up to 60% in a mechanical press-ratio. Furthermore, by adopting a newly developed "high-capacity capacitor storage system" for AC servo motor press applications, we want to reduce the power supply capacity to the same level as mechanical presses, which results in less power consumption.

Recently, we also manufacture and sell lithium-ion battery manufacturing equipment. This equipment is flexible, yet productive and capable of producing high-quality batteries. In particular, Laser TAB Former is highly productive and contributes to the production of our customers.

Komatsu has delivered more than 430 large servo presses to automobile manufacturers all over the world. Komatsu is developing and supplying large-scale press lines for forming automotive body panels. Productivity has been increased by 75 percent with the pendulum feeder compared to the conventional tandem press lines.

Komatsu Germany’s Industrial Division installs presses and spare parts for their European customers. Quick availability can be guaranteed by the storage of parts in our Dusseldorf based warehouse.
