Junior Internal Auditor ESG at Komatsu Europe

We're looking for a dedicated ESG Compliance & Internal Audit Specialist to help us meet new regulatory requirements and enhance our internal audit processes.

At this moment we are looking for Junior Internal Auditor ESG.

Junior Internal Auditor ESG

Location: Vilvoorde (EU HQ)
Travel: Up to 30%
Minimum Experience: 0-2 years in Audit, Internal Control, or ESG/CSR-related functions

Responsibilities

1. ESG Compliance and Implementation (80%):

  • Directive Implementation: Support the setup and implementation of the European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D).
  • Policy Development: Create and refine policies, procedures, and controls for ESG compliance within the Komatsu Europe Group.
  • Due Diligence: Develop due diligence processes for suppliers.
  • Control Framework: Establish a control framework for ESG-related legislation.
  • Education & Communication: Prepare training materials, periodic newsletters, and presentations to educate management on ESG requirements.
  • Follow-Up: Monitor the implementation of ESG directives across Komatsu Europe entities.

2. Internal Audit & Compliance (20%):

  • Audit Planning: Assist in developing the annual internal audit plan.
  • Audit Execution: Lead and perform audit projects, including SOX, compliance, finance, and operational audits.
  • Testing & Documentation: Conduct audit tests, ensure timely completion of documentation, and coordinate with process owners.
  • Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance internal control processes and participate in improvement projects.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle departmental administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Degree: Business Economics, Business Engineering, Environment & Prevention Management, or a related field.
Knowledge: Basic understanding of financial reporting, accounting, USGAAP, internal control frameworks (including SOX), and ESG/CSR regulations.
Skills:

  • Proficiency in English; other languages (Dutch, German, French, Italian) are a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
