Working Gear

Philosophy:

To meet special feature requests from individual customers from all over the world, Working Gear carries out the complete process of planning, developing and manufacturing the best solutions in terms of “special application machines”.

Strategy:

Apart from focussing on existing products and projects as well as supporting sales trainings and promotion material, Working Gear provides important technical support for marketing and sales and covers the role of handling parts of existing working gear products. Together with the Komatsu distribution network, the Working Gear Group is always looking for new challenges in the various industrial segments and worldwide markets. To develop special application machines, our group is very flexible and absolutely customer oriented and fully backed-up by all other internal Komatsu Hanomag resources such as Marketing, After Sales and the European Technical Centre. This allows future developments to be carried out with the requirements of our customers in mind and within a reasonable time frame.

Activities:

Concentration on five main segments:

  • Waste and Recycling industry
  • Chemical industry
  • Wood and Timber industry
  • Agriculture application
  • Stone handler

Results:

So far, Working Gear Group developments have had huge international success: the design of the WA500-3 Stone Handler was taken over by Komatsu Hanomag’s mother plant in Japan to serve Mid- and Near East countries and even our Australian D/B Komatsu Australia relies on the support and the attachments developed by our Working Gear Group to maintain their No. 1 position in the market and to better serve their industrial customers. Other machines such as WA500 High Lift Log Grapple are unique in the world of Komatsu and thus, huge projects could be concluded selling numerous machines in the booming South-American market for log handling. Among others, these developments in particular have increased Komatsu’s reputation as a company totally focussed on our customers needs and requirements.
